Aliviar Coffeehouse is now showing the work of local painter and illustrator Allison McClay.

On the music front, we’re featuring Church, an experimental pop band with unique instrumentation.

Our menu has evolved too, and includes French Press coffees, all natural crushed fruit smoothies and bagels with cream cheese or fresh, organic hummus.

Aliviar Coffeehouse is located at 1737 NE 42nd Avenue in the K-2 building between Broadway and Sandy. Trouble finding us? Call 503-954-1091. Open M-F 6:45 – 5:00 and Sat/Sun 7:45-5:00 — for now, to expand probably by summer.

Artist Submission Guidelines

Aiviar Coffeehouse is proud to exhibit the work of local and independent artists. For display/promotion only OR for sale - artist’s choice. ALL of the proceeds from sales go directly to the artist. What’s in it for us? We’re honored to be a gathering place for local, aspiring and/or independent artists and the people who love them. Please see the guidelines specific to your work below – if you have something else entirely that you think should interest us, e-mail your idea to sls27@aol.com.

Visual Art: Display only or display for sale - photography, drawings, paintings, etc. – rotating on an as yet loosely-defined schedule. Send an e-mail with a little information about you and some pictures of your work either in the body of an e-mail, as an attachment or a link to a website to sls27@aol.com.

Music: Unfortunately we don’t have the space for live music performances, but we’ll feature music by playing it in the coffeehouse for a period of time while selling CDs and/or promote a recurring or upcoming performance or website. To be considered, send an e-mail with information about yourself to principe.nicholas@gmail.com – include either an attachment or link to a sample of your music. Alternatively you can bring or send a CD separately.

Small Presses/Chapbooks: Regretably, we don’t have the space for readings, but are interested in showcasing poetry, literature, philosophy, manifestos, etcetera published by small presses and local writers. We can sell books and/or promote readings and events. To be considered please send an e-mail with information about the author and the work to sls27@aol.com.
